Dharmacakra: together towards Supreme Goal The indomitable mental force aroused as a result of collective meditation will help you solve any problem, great or small, on this earth. It is for this reason that you should always be zealous to attend weekly Dharmacakra regularly. Shrii Shrii Anandamurtii
Every human being has unquenchable thirst for happiness. The wise people have understood that source of infinite happiness is not outside in the world of physical objects, but inside of us. True spiritual seeker goes to that source not only individually, that would develop in him egotism and indifference to others. This idea of yoga was materialized in the practice of collective meditation - Dharmacakra. Dharmacakra means "circle of Dharma", that is community (circle) of people, which are together fulfilling their nature (Dharma): to strive for attainment of infinite happiness. Participation in collective meditation gives opportunity to have a company of likeminded people and draw fresh inspiration from that unity. Dharmacakra unites even unfamiliar people and inspire them for different selfless social activities. Idea of collectivism, cooperation of Dharmacakra opposes values of individualistic pleasure imposed on society by modern consumer's culture.
Dharmacakra is started with Prabhat Samgiita, some of 5018 songs created by Shrii Shrii Anandamurtii. Prabhat Samgiita or Songs of the New Dawn in a very poetic and beautiful form tell about human being's great longing for eternal Love. These compositions have no parallels in the world and are part of unique cultural heritage. They help one to appreciate subtlest spiritual feelings. After that follows Kiirtan -chant of Sanskrit mantra "Baba Nam Kevalam", meaning "Love is all there is". Externally Kiirtan is just a simple dance with mantra chanting in a beautiful melody. But most important thing in it is the internal result. "During Kiirtan what happens? The mind gets lifted, exalted, and as a result you will enjoy a particular nature of peace. And if you start your Sa'dhana' (meditation) just after doing Kiirtan, you will enjoy bliss. So Kiirtan is a necessity, is an indispensable necessity for proper Sa'dhana'." - said Shrii Shrii Anandamurtii. After Kiirtan and meditation yoga teachers give a little discourse for participants. They share their spiritual experience, explaining principles of yoga with interesting examples. Those who listen take over their enthusiasm and desire to live one's live meaningfully and also to do good for others. Thus collective meditation is an important component for fast spiritual progress of individual and society, it is an unifying force for moral and spiritual people. In Barnaul we have Dharmacakra twice a week Wednesday and Sunday. Usually it is attended by 25-30 people. |
