The Association "Istoriya i komp'uter" was founded in 1992 as a branch of the International Association for History and Computing. It offers membership to researches from Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan and other countries including former Soviet republics.

President of the Association is Leonid I.Borodkin, D.Sc. (History), Prof. (Moscow State University).
